In this episode WiGH interviews Dr. Angela Aidala, an associate research scientist at Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health. As the director of ongoing studies of people living with HIV in New York City, as well as a supportive housing intervention for homeless populations, Dr. Aidala’s work has given her a unique insight into the connection between public health and sociology. In this interview, she speaks about the social determinants of health and the policy decisions that have trapped some populations in a cycle of homelessness and incarceration.
